BOGYÓLÉ is the nouveau wine from the Villány slopes, the first red wine of the vintage, made in observance of the winemaking traditions of the French Beaujolais Nouveau. Our only red wine that is only red in colour, but practically lacks tannin. The wine itself is born within the grape and then it explodes to life. The Hungarian brand name “Bogyólé” refers to this origin. As a nouveau wine, the first wine from 2020 also brings about the typical new wine character that is so popular: zesty, lively, cheerful, explosively fruity: full of scents and aromas of raspberry, red berries and rum punch. It feels easy to drink and spreads happiness.
TRIVIA:
With our traditional yearly artistic competition, the nouveau wine debuts in a new costume every year. This year, all graphic design programmes in higher-education were invited to the competition, and the institutions were also represented on the panel assessing the submissions. This year’s winner is Veronika Kovács, student of the Metropolitan University, Budapest.
Traditionally recommended for St. Martin’s Day delicacies (especially goose meals)!
2021
The unusually cool spring of the 2021 vintage was followed by abundant summer sunshine. This brought in the backwardness of grape development, so harvest dates evoked “old times”. The warm summer and the moderate rainfall allowed the formation of pleasant aromas. The cooler October weather following sunny September has contributed to the development of more vibrant acids, which will result in vibrant, vibrant wines from this vintage.
