ÖRDÖG/ BELZEBUB Cuvée 2014
1 799 Ft
A blend based on local varieties, which is named after the amorous devil Belzebub (in Hungarian: Ördög) from the ancient local legend. It is its vitality that catches us. The 2014 vintage is refreshing and lively. Seductive notes of dark fruitiness (black sour cherry, plum) is complemented by subtile barrel spices (cinamon, star anise). According to the legend, the love remained unfulfilled, so it is in this blend that the devils ideal marriage lives on.
Perfect match with Hungarian cuisine, paprika dishes, roasts, Italian pasta and medium cheese.
In 2014 spring arrived very early and the summer was much warmer than in previous years.
We started the challenging harvest on the 8th of September and it lasted till the end of October. During the beginning of the harvest we had cooler, moister weather, but in October it became warm and sunny, which was good for the late-harvest varieties.
Wines became fruity, medium bodied (with medium tannins) with lively acidity.
