István Ipacs Szabó, winemaker-in-chief
I was born into a family with a long tradition of viticulture and viniculture and thus grew up in the natural company of earth, plants and grapes. Even as a child I was interested in this colourful world and thus being already initiated into those branches of agriculture that interested me, I gained degrees in viti- and viniculture, and agrarian engineering from the Saint Stephen University. I then wanted to discover the world and regularly worked in the Austrian vineyards and cellars. I also spent two apprentice years in California. Accepting Pál Debreczeni’s offer, I joined the Vylyan team in 1999, right in the middle of the harvest.
