Montenuovo Cuvée

The wine is named after Prince Nándor Montenuovo, who owned parts of our vineyards at the beginning of the 20th century. Our aim is to create a harmonious blend, a golden mean, between the robust and the lively-fruity styles. Its complexity makes it a good match with many kinds of dishes, thus a favourite of the best restaurants.

The wine is named after Prince Nándor Montenuovo, who owned parts of our vineyards at the beginning of the 20th century.  The 2007 vintage is a harmonious blend of Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot. By character it’s a golden mean between the robust and the lively-fruity styles. Has depth and dimension. The aroma is dominated by ripe fruits complemented with spicy notes. Its complexity makes it a good match with many kinds of dishes.

Villányi Montenuovo Cuvée 2006

The 2006 blend is a delightful marriage of the domineering Cabernet Franc complemented with the warmth of Merlot and fulfilled with the spicy-frisky Zweigelt.
The result is a harmonic, definite wine, typical of the vintage: richly concentrated, complex and full bodied. Loaded with lovely ripe fruits (plum) melded with spicy oak notes (chocolate, coffee and clove). Good match with various dishes (like barbecue, lamb, duck or pork dishes).

Contrary to previous vintages 2005 blend contains the domineering syrah. With accent on fruitiness, this medium bodied lively red easily endears itself. The aromas are dominated by dark forest fruit notes supplemented by chocolate-like spiciness derived from oak barrel aging.

Deep purple wine with charming nose and medium body, dominated by vivid fruitiness and smooth tannins. Loaded with fresh fruit aromas (sour cherry, strawberry and blackberry) melded with spicy oak and eucalyptus notes. Exciting wine, good match with a number of dishes like barbecue, roasts or even some paprika dishes served at 16-17ºC.

Deep coloured wine, richly concentrated and full bodied. The fragrance is dominated by ripe black berried fruits. The palate by black cherries flavour is complemented with cinnamon, coffee and black pepper in its long lasting finish. Its complexity makes the wine good match with various dishes (like barbecue, lamb, duck or pork dishes).

This Cuvée is named after Prince Nandor Montenuovo who had his estate here early in the 20th century.

Vylyan Montenuovo Cuvée 2002

Montenuovo is recognizable by its fruitiness, spiciness and soft tannins. The nose pleasantly cites perfumes and spices. The aromas are dominated by ripe cherry, complemented with some freshly ground black pepper. It was matured for 15 months in 225 l barrels made of Hungarian oaks. Good choice with barbecue, roast lamb, duck or some paprika dishes.

Medium bodied wine with ruby colour. The nose is pleasant and charming, the aromas are dominated by fruits, like ripe sour cherry. Tannins are silky and smooth. The structure and fruitiness, complemented with some barrel aging makes the wine a good match for various dishes. Good choice with spicy roasts and cheese.

Cabernet Sauvignon / Pinot Noir

Medium to full bodied wine with dark ruby colour. Pleasant and charming, almost floral nose. The palate is dominated by fresh tart red fruits of raspberry and sour cherry. A touch of spiciness and dark chocolate is also detectable. It has a medium to long lingering finish. Food pairing: stews, roast chicken and duck or pork with pruned fruits, light and mid-matured cheese.
